With a technical area of approx. 1,000 m2 and approx. 700 m2
office and laboratory space, we can carry out polymer synthesis processes in solution,
bulk, emulsion and suspension as well as various processing methods, including injection
moulding compounding (IMC). Our facilities have a high degree
of online monitoring and are equipped with a modern process feedback system
(fieldbus technology) for process control.
Beside the development of new polymer systems from laboratory to pilot plant scale,
activities in the synthesis section centre on process optimisation in the field
of polymerisation technology. The latter is undertaken in co-operation with the
Department of Polymerisation Technology at the Martin Luther University of Halle.
The processing section concentrates on the development of application-specific
thermoplastic compounds and prototype components, paying particular attention to
the influence of processing on material and component properties.
